Our Team
Ashley Ahlin, camp director, is the Outreach Coordinator for the MSU Mathematics Department. She earned her Ph.D. in mathematics at the University of Chicago, and has taught at the University of Chicago, the Maine School of Science and Mathematics, Vanderbilt University, and online for the Davidson Institute and the Art of Problem Solving. Locally, she started the East Lansing Elementary Math Circle in 2010, and supervises the East Lansing Middle Grades Math Circle.
Shelley Kandola is currently a postdoc at Michigan State University in the Mathematics Department, studying applications of topology to math education research. She earned her Ph.D. in Mathematics at the University of Minnesota in 2019. In Fall 2021, she will return to the University of Minnesota as the Assistant Director of MathCEP, their educational outreach program.
